Having only one clue to work on each week, and being able to finish it on the weekend has motivated me to knit more during the week too.
I finished the second birthday sock and mailed it along. Then I finished 2.5 more pairs:
Since I only have half of one sock left to knit, I got some more yarn to work on a new shawl while waiting for the final clue. I was so anxious to get started, I actually wound the skeins I bought for the project into balls by hand, something I dont usually do, because I dont really enjoy it.
Here's the very first little bit of intarsia I ever did...and a peek at those balls I wound up. The colors are a little brighter in person, this pic was snapped on my bed at midnight, so the lighting was pretty dim:
I can't wait until I have even more flamboyn shawl to show you!!
Murph and I went to the Beach this past weekend with our friend Gayle. We forgot to take a selfie of all 3 of us, but I got one with murph before she arrived:
It was a SUPER windy day, winds in excess of 20 mph.
Which made it a little chilly if sitting still, even at 90 degrees, but a really great day for walking, and for windsurfing and the apparently very popular kite-boarding. There were more than 20 people there boarding, and it looked like a lot of fun.
The first beach trip of the season turned out to be a great one. I hope there are many more to come.
