The weather has been gorgeous here!
Things are popping up in my garden like crazy! These are pics of my peas and spinach, and some of the asparagus I have let go to fern. We have been grilling like crazy here - and we throw the couple of asparagus that pop up every day on the grill with our dinner.
I have been working hard on my landscaping. I planted a tree, and some flowers. I moved a lot of flowers around so they will pop up where I want them to next year (particularly rogue daffodils and hyacinths). Mostly, I have been moving around the 10 cubic yards of dirt I ordered to grade out my yard and prepare to plant grass when I return from Maryland next week.
YES! I am going to Maryland Sheep & Wool Festival. I can't wait to see all my friends. As with last year, Cloverhill Yarn Shop is going to have the BEST booth at the festival. Jolene has been counting down to the festival over on their blog, check out some of her vendors...I think I will NEED some of that gradiance yarn from Unique Sheep.
I the meantime, it is the 3 year anniversary of Providence SnB. I look forward to celebrating it Wednesday night. I whipped up a couple of bags for door prizes to our celebration.
I have also been gathering some loot for my girls in Maryland. My second favorite thing I made is these flower pot pin cushions. I used this tutorial to make them. (Got the teeny-tiny pots at my local garden center. I also FINALLY finished hemming the skirt I made for Jody. She is so slim, I hope its not way to big. My MOST FAVORITE thing I am bringing down is an Amy Butler bag I sewed up for Michelle for her wedding. Pics next week, after she gets to meet it.
In knitting news, my Cherry Blossom Shawl only needs 3 more repeats to be complete. I can knit on it in public, so I it WILL be coming to everywhere with me the next couple of weeks, cause its so light!
My top down raglan cardigan progress is that I ripped it back to the fat brown stripe, because the yarn I spun for it is too fat, and I dont like the way it looks. I am using the yarn I used for the sleeves instead. I only need to knit 6.5 more inches of stockinette, 6 rows of garter stitch, and then I am done. I have one more ball of yarn left, and then I am back to the spinning wheel. :)
WOW, that was a lot of update. As I said, I am heading to Maryland later this week. So, look for another post next week. And don't worry. The Murph is getting to stay in his very own house with Shamus and his parents.
