These are "Ankle Socks for a Twin" made out of KnitPicks Dancing Yarn, a cotton wool blend for summer. I made them while vegging and watching bad movies.
The other excitement for yesterday was that when Jen and I were leaving the condo to take Murph for a walk at the park, we found someone's pet bird on our balcony. Although I am not overly fond of birds, our parents do have them as pets, and I am somewhat used to them. The bird was calling to us, so I put my hand out and called back, and long story short, it has now taken up residence in our bathroom to protect it from the cats. Here is a photo of Jen with our very temporary new friend. (We put up signs and called the Humane Society to see if anyone reported a missing bird, I will put an ad in the paper tomorrow.) In the meantime, he/she is a friendly addition to our house, if a little demanding. (Bird is friendly and really wants attention ALL the time.) Just in case we cannot find its owners, let us know if you would like a 9" green parrotlike creature, a little lacking in manners but VERY friendly.
