Last night I painted pottery with Rebecca and our 9 year old neighbor Savannah (her grandma lives next door to our office). It was great fun to watch Savannah finish her entire project in 1 hour, while I spent 2.5 hours there, and then had to take paints/pottery home with me to finish. The people at THE POTTERS HOUSE (www.clayandbeans.com) are so nice!! Here is a picture of my project so far...make appropriate comments and it could be yours, as I have no idea if I will be keeping it or making it into a Christmas present for some lucky person.
Tonight I am supposed to go camping with Rebecca for one night. The weather seems omnious, and camping seems unlikely at this time. We will reevaluate this afternoon...maybe I will actually get to finish painting that piece of pottery instead!
I spent last weekend going through my project ideas and patterns, and picking out several that I wanted to accomplish this fall/winter. I then spent last week gathering the appropriate yarns and materials to actually make them. This weekend, I will try and post some of the works in progress. And of course, I will try to clean the house. I always try to clean the house on the weekend. Sometimes I even accomplish it. (Or sometimes Jen does.)
